Japan Sends Spaceship to Mars Moon
Japan sends a spacecraft to Phobos, a small moon of Mars. The spacecraft goes up on a rocket from Japan. About an hour later, Japan's space team says the launch is a success. The spacecraft will take some soil from the moon. It will bring the soil back to Earth in 2031.
Mars has two small moons. Scientists do not know where these moons came from. Maybe they are pieces from a big crash with Mars. Maybe they are space rocks that Mars caught. The soil can help scientists find the answer. Nobody has landed on these moons before.
The spacecraft will arrive at Mars in 2027. First, it will drop a small robot car. The robot will look for a safe place to land. Then the spacecraft will land and take the soil. The soil will come back in a capsule. It will land in Australia.
