US Bars Microsoft From Green Card Program

On Thursday, 8 October, the US government suspended Microsoft from a program that allows companies to sponsor skilled foreign employees for permanent residency. Labor Secretary Keith Sonderling announced that the Department of Labor would neither accept new applications nor process pending ones from Microsoft under the Permanent Labor Certification Program (PERM). Seven other firms were also suspended: Adobe, Cognizant, Infosys, Tata, Wipro, HCL and Capgemini.
