Romanian Air Force Shoots Down Drone

A Romanian war plane shot down a drone on Friday. Officials say this was the first time. No NATO country had ever shot down a drone in its own sky. NATO is a group of countries that defend each other. The drone fell in an empty area. Pilots say it looked like the kind of drone Russia uses in Ukraine. Nobody knows yet who sent it.

Romania is next to Ukraine. Russia invaded Ukraine in 2022. Since then, many drones have flown over Romania. One hit a flat and hurt two people. Before Friday, war planes only followed these drones. They never shot one down.

The war goes on. Russian drones killed three delivery drivers in Ukraine this week. An attack near Kyiv killed at least ten people. The United Nations will meet on Monday to talk about Ukraine.
