A woman went into the sea from a big cruise ship near Greece. She is 44 years old and comes from El Salvador. She stayed in the water for about 20 hours. She floated inside an orange life ring. Then a cargo ship saw her in the dark. Greek coast guard workers pulled her out with ropes.
Many people looked for her. Boats, a helicopter and other ships all helped. A coast guard officer spoke about the woman. The officer said she told rescuers she jumped. She said she wanted to get off the ship.
After the rescue, she went to a hospital in Greece for health tests. A local lawyer for the state asked for a check of her mental health. The coast guard shared a video of the rescue. Last year, a man jumped from another ship of the same company. That was a different case.
