LeBron James is one of the best basketball players in history. He is 41 years old. On 25 July 2026, he said he will join the Philadelphia 76ers. He called it my last decision. His new contract lasts two years and is worth about $8million. That is very little for a star player. He earned about $53million last season. The move ends eight years with the Los Angeles Lakers.
James almost retired. He said he was sure he had played his last game. But he still loves the sport. He did not join Philadelphia for money or for his family. He joined because he wants to win the title again. Earlier, the team also brought in a strong player, Jaylen Brown. James's agent said that deal changed everything.
Philadelphia has not won the title since 1983. Last season the team lost every game of its series against the New York Knicks. Now many people believe the 76ers can win. But one star, Joel Embiid, is often injured. If James wins in Philadelphia, he will be the first player to take the title with four different clubs.
