Djokovic Wins China Open After De Minaur Stops

Novak Djokovic won the China Open in Beijing this week after Alex de Minaur stopped with a left-thigh injury. The 39-year-old was leading 7-6 (7-3), 0-1 when the younger Australian quit. The first part of the match had taken 68 minutes, and both men then took a medical timeout. De Minaur returned with strapping on his thigh, won one game, and shook hands. He told the fans he was sorry and had not wanted it to end like that.
