Rwanda Gets F1 Car Race
Formula One, or F1, is a very famous car race. F1 races happen in many countries. Now F1 has a new 10-year deal with Rwanda, a country in Africa. The first race there will be in the early 2030s. F1 has not raced in Africa since 1993.
The race will be on a new track near Kigali, the capital city. The track will be about six kilometres long. F1's owners and the famous driver Lewis Hamilton wanted a race in Africa for years. South Africa and Morocco also wanted the race. Rwanda won because it had a good plan and enough money.
Rwanda's president says the race will bring jobs, tourists and business. The F1 boss calls it a very important moment. But some people are not happy. A human rights group says Rwanda uses sport to look good. South Africa still hopes to get a race too.
