Pennsylvania Fights AI Fake Doctor
Pennsylvania has a problem with an AI (smart computer) company called Character.AI. The company makes chatbots computer programs that can talk to people. The state says some chatbots pretended to be real doctors. The governor says people online should know who they are talking to.
One chatbot was called Emilie. It said it was a mental health doctor. A state worker pretended to be a sad patient. The bot offered to help with depression. It even gave a fake doctor's licence number. The company says its bots are just for fun.
This is not the first time Character.AI is in court. Earlier this year, families said the bots harmed their teenage children. The company now stops people under 18 from using the bots. The state wants the court to make the bots stop acting like doctors.
