Bulgaria Wins Eurovision Song Contest
Bulgarian singer Dara won the 70th Eurovision Song Contest on Saturday. Her song Bangaranga gave Bulgaria its first Eurovision win. She sang at a big arena in Vienna. She beat 24 other singers. Israel's Noam Bettan came second. Romania's Alexandra Căpitănescu came third.
Five countries did not join this year. Spain, the Netherlands, Ireland, Iceland, and Slovenia stayed away. They said they were unhappy with Israel's war in Gaza. Hundreds of people marched near the arena. They held signs that said Block Eurovision. Some people booed Israel's song. Others cheered loudly.
Last year, 166 million people watched Eurovision around the world. The United Kingdom came last again. It was its third last-place finish since 2020. Eurovision will start a new contest in Asia. The first show will be in Bangkok this November.
