Hunter Killed by Elephants
An American hunter died in Africa last week. His name was Ernie Dosio. He was 75 years old. He was hunting a small animal in Gabon. Suddenly five elephants with a baby came near him. The elephants felt scared and ran at him. His guide was hurt. Dosio could not stop them.
Dosio loved big-game hunting. He paid $40,000for this trip. He had hunted in Africa for many years. Some people say this kind of hunting helps wild animals. But many other people say it is bad. Gabon has about 95,000 of these elephants. They are very rare.
The U.S. government is sending Dosio home. He leaves a partner, two sons, and a big business. His hunter friends are very sad. Last year, another American hunter died in Africa too.
