England throws away a lot of medicine. Pharmacists say people do not use all their medicine. Last year the waste was 3,400 tonnes.
The NHS is the health service in England. The waste costs it a lot of money. A pharmacy cannot take the medicine back. Then the medicine must be destroyed in a special way.
Pharmacists ask people to order less medicine. They want people to order only what they need. They also want doctors to check medicine more often. They say this money can help sick people.
