King Meets Aberfan Families
King Charles visited Aberfan on Wednesday. Aberfan is a small village in Wales. The King met survivors of a big disaster. In 1966, coal waste fell down a mountain. It hit a school and some houses. In total, 144 people died. Most of them were children.
The waste was on the mountain for many years. Then it rained for three weeks. The wet waste moved very fast.
The Prime Minister came to the village on Monday. He said sorry to the people. Today, Wales still has many old coal piles. People are afraid it can happen again.
