Jodrell Bank is a big telescope in England. It is almost 70 years old. Now it may close. The UK government will stop paying for it in 2028.
Work at Jodrell Bank started in 1945. Scientists use it to study stars and space. It helps them learn how stars are born. Long ago, it also watched Soviet missiles.
Many scientists are angry. They say this is a big mistake. About 28 people may lose their jobs. The telescope hopes to find new money soon.
