Two Scientists Win Chemistry Nobel for Mirror Molecules

Henri B. Kagan from Paris-Sud University in France and Kenso Soai from the Tokyo University of Science in Japan have won the 2026 Nobel Prize in Chemistry. They showed how chemical reactions can produce far more of one mirror-image form of a molecule than the other. The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences announced the prize in Stockholm on Wednesday. The two scientists will share 12 million Swedish kronor, about £900,000.
