Uber Eats will soon deliver food by drone. Uber is working with a company called Zipline. The first deliveries start later this year in Dallas and Houston. Later, the service will grow to many more American cities.
The drone can carry eight pounds. It flies up to ten miles at about 70 miles per hour. It does not land. It stays high in the air. A small box comes down on a rope. The box puts the food on the ground. This takes about 90 seconds.
Zipline has already made more than 2.7 million deliveries. It works with Walmart and some restaurants. The American air safety agency has allowed some flights. People still ask about the noise. They also ask about the price. The companies have not said if drone delivery will cost more.
