Study Finds Ear Acupuncture No Better Than Placebo

Researchers in Brazil have tested whether acupuncture on the outer ear can reduce migraine pain. The study included 68 women with chronic migraine. Half received auriculotherapy, a type of acupuncture that uses points on the outer ear. The rest received a different kind of ear stimulation as a placebo, or fake treatment. Both groups were treated once a week for eight weeks.
