Cuba lost all its electricity on Friday. Millions of people had no power. The problem started just before 2pm. A power line broke, and bad weather made it worse. Phones and the internet stopped working too. In the evening, power came back near hospitals in the capital city.
This happens often in Cuba now. The electricity system is very old. Cuba must buy fuel from other countries. This fuel is getting harder to find. This is the sixth or seventh big blackout this year.
Life is hard without power. Food and medicine are difficult to find. Hospitals cannot work well. Schools and offices often close. One old man had no power for 28 hours. Some people protested, which is very rare in Cuba.
