Buffett Ends 20-Year, $47bn Gates Foundation Partnership

Warren Buffett, the 95-year-old chairman of Berkshire Hathaway, has ended a two-decade philanthropic partnership with the Gates Foundation. In his annual mid-year announcement on Tuesday, Buffett said he would donate about $6 billion — roughly 12 million Class B Berkshire shares — to four foundations run by his family, but he made no mention of the Gates Foundation, which had received the largest portion of his giving for twenty years.
