Legionnaires' Outbreak Sickens Dozens on Upper East Side

New York City is confronting a growing outbreak of Legionnaires' disease, a severe form of pneumonia, on Manhattan's Upper East Side. Health officials first recorded a case in late June and confirmed a cluster in early July. The number of people sickened has climbed quickly: The Guardian reported at least 28 cases, while the Daily Mail put the figure at 46, up from 23 a week earlier. About 22 patients have been hospitalized, some in critical condition in intensive care, though no deaths have been reported.
