Harry Kane Breaks Bundesliga Record for 100 Goals

Nobody had come close to this mark for 49 years. Back in 1977, Dieter Muller of Cologne needed 129 matches to reach 100 Bundesliga goals, 31 more than Kane. On the all-time list, Bayern legend Gerd Muller is next at 136 games, then Lothar Emmerich (140) and Uwe Seeler (157). The England striker has barely stopped scoring since Bayern signed him from Tottenham Hotspur in 2023, for a transfer fee the Daily Mail put at 100 million pounds. Across every competition he has 152 goals from 154 appearances, and last season alone he managed 61 in 51 games. By the same newspaper's calculation, a Kane goal arrives every 78.5 minutes in the league, a sharper rate than either Robert Lewandowski or Erling Haaland managed.

"I'm very proud to have now scored 100 and 101 Bundesliga goals. I've loved every second of it," Kane told Sky Germany. At 33, he is widely seen as a strong candidate for the Ballon d'Or, football's biggest individual award, which is announced in London on 26 October. His Bayern contract expires when the season ends, but he insists there is no hurry to leave Germany.
