Old SpaceX Rocket Will Hit Moon
An old piece of a SpaceX rocket will hit the Moon on Wednesday. It has been in space for more than a year. It will hit the Moon very fast. Its speed will be about 5,400 miles per hour.
Nobody planned this crash. The rocket went up into space in January 2025. It carried two small spacecraft. After that job, it had no fuel to come home. Gravity slowly pulled it to the Moon.
The crash will make a new hole in the Moon. The hole will be about 20 to 30 metres wide. It is too small to see from Earth. But spacecraft will take photos of it. Scientists want to know if space junk is dangerous for future astronauts. Space junk is old machines left in space.
