Two improvised explosive devices detonated in central Damascus on Tuesday near the Four Seasons hotel where French President Emmanuel Macron was staying during a landmark state visit, wounding at least 18 people, including four police officers, Syrian authorities said. The interior ministry said security forces had found the devices — one in a parked car, another in a rubbish bin — and that the blasts occurred as specialists prepared to defuse them.
