The United Nations voted on Friday. It voted to stop using an old world map. The old map is over 400 years old. The new map shows Africa at its real size.
A man drew the old map in 1569. It helped sailors travel by sea. The old map makes Africa look too small. It makes Greenland look very big. But Africa is 14 times bigger.
Togo asked for this change. It spoke for African countries. 164 countries said yes. Only the United States said no. Many schools may use the new map now.
