Europe Says No to World Cup
UEFA is the group for football in Europe. Its 55 countries say they will not play in FIFA games. FIFA runs the World Cup. FIFA wants to sell part of the World Cup to private investors. UEFA says the World Cup is not for sale.
FIFA wants to make about 3.1 billion pounds from the sale. It says it will still make all the big decisions. UEFA does not believe this. It says investors will only think about money. Concacaf (a football group in America) also said no to the plan.
Europe will play again if FIFA stops the sale. But the fight may hurt some games soon. Young women play a World Cup in Poland in September. Six teams from Europe are in it.
