Typhoon Dolphin reached China's eastern coast on Sunday evening, striking the town of Yuhuan in Zhejiang province at 17:30 local time with winds of about 150 kilometres per hour. About an hour later it came ashore again near Wenzhou. Officials had already issued their highest warning, a red alert, before the typhoon arrived, and by Monday morning they lowered it to a tropical storm.
