Rescuers Search Java Sea for 140 Missing People

Rescue teams in Indonesia were searching the Java Sea on Sunday for about 140 people after a passenger ship carrying more than 240 people lost contact during bad weather. The ship, the Virgo Transport 8, left the city of Surabaya in East Java on Saturday and was travelling to Banjarmasin, a city on the island of Borneo. Contact was lost at about 2 a.m. on Sunday, when the vessel was around 148 kilometres (92 miles) from Banjarmasin.
