Insomnia Triples Cancer Risk in Under-50s, Studies Find

Two large US studies presented at the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) annual meeting in Chicago have linked chronic poor sleep to a sharply higher risk of cancer in adults under 50. Researchers from MD Anderson Cancer Center and Jefferson Health analysed health records covering more than 18 million Americans aged 18 to 50, including over 413,000 people diagnosed with insomnia between 2021 and 2026.
