A robot ran 100 metres in 9.39 seconds in Beijing. This is faster than the world record for people. The runner Usain Bolt set that record in 2009. A Beijing centre built the robot. After the race, the robot could not stop. It hit a soft mattress and fell down. Workers carried it away to fix it.
The robot games happen in Beijing. More than 2,000 robots are in the games. They come from 16 countries. There are 50 different events. Some events copy sports like boxing and football. In other events, robots do work, like folding clothes.
The work events show how robots may help people in jobs. But robots still have problems. One robot caught fire after a race. Another robot fell down during a race.
