Ex-President Yoon Sentenced to 30 Years Over Drones

Yoon Suk Yeol, South Korea's removed former president, was sentenced to 30 years in prison on Friday. The court punished him for ordering secret drone flights over Pyongyang, the capital of North Korea, in 2024. His former defense minister, Kim Yong Hyun, received the same 30-year sentence. Prosecutors said Yoon ordered the flights to raise tensions with North Korea and to create an excuse for declaring martial law at home.
