Construction workers renovating a former brewery in Belgium have uncovered a hoard of gold worth an estimated €9m (about $10.4m), sealed inside a bricked-up cellar wall. The find was made on Tuesday in Sint-Gillis-Dendermonde, a Flemish town roughly 30km north-west of Brussels, as the crew dug trenches for new sewage pipes. Among them was Kobe, an 18-year-old student working a summer job, who assumed the glinting discs were €1 coins until a gold nugget appeared.
