Bald Eaglets Hatch in Chicago After 100 Years

Two baby bald eagles have hatched in a nest along the Calumet River in Chicago. City officials say this is the first time bald eagles have successfully bred in the city in more than 100 years. The Chicago Park District announced the discovery last week. Birdwatchers noticed nesting activity in Park 597 starting in February. The first eaglet was spotted on April 28 and the second on May 7.
