Apple Sues OpenAI Over Secrets

Apple has taken OpenAI to court. OpenAI made the chatbot called ChatGPT. Apple says OpenAI stole its trade secrets. Trade secrets are a company's private plans and designs. Apple also blames two men who used to work for Apple. They now work for OpenAI. Apple says they took secret files.

The two companies were friends before. In 2024, Apple put ChatGPT into the iPhone. But this year Apple started using Google's help instead. Then OpenAI began to make its own hardware. It paid a lot of money to buy a small company. Apple says one man emailed himself secret work information.

OpenAI said it did nothing wrong. It said it does not want other companies' secrets. Apple wants money. It also wants a court to stop OpenAI. OpenAI plans to sell its first hardware product this month.
