Doctors Say AI Can Be Wrong
A study found one in seven UK people use AI for health advice. AI means artificial intelligence. King's College London asked over 2,000 people. About 15% said they used tools like ChatGPT.
AI feels easy to use. It is free and always there. But AI can give wrong advice. One woman asked her chatbot for help. Once, it gave good advice. Another time, it told her she had a serious injury. She went to hospital, but she was fine. Oxford researchers tested AI. In tests, it was right 95% of the time. But in real chats, it was only 35% right.
Doctors say people must be careful. AI can not examine a patient. It can not see small signs of illness. Doctors say: use trusted health websites. Talk to a real doctor when you are sick. OpenAI says AI should give information, not replace a doctor.
