Hurricane Isaias Kills Four in US
A big storm called Hurricane Isaias hit the southern United States on Friday night. It killed four people. Two people died in Florida, and two died in Alabama. The storm had very strong winds. It broke roofs and knocked down trees. Hundreds of thousands of homes lost electricity.
Isaias was the first hurricane of the year in the Atlantic Ocean. It came very late. The first hurricane has not come this late in over 100 years. But the sea near Florida is very warm, and warm water makes storms stronger. Before the storm, thousands of people left their homes.
After a few hours, the storm became weaker. But officials said there was still danger. They expected heavy rain and floods. In Florida, rescuers saved people from cars in deep water. Two more storms are coming from the Pacific Ocean.
